Implement Fair Refund Policies for Incorrect Food Delivery Orders

Implement Fair Refund Policies for Incorrect Food Delivery Orders
The Issue
I, like many others, have spent hundreds if not thousands on food delivery services over the years like Skip The Dishes, Door Dash, Instacart, and Uber Eats. Despite the rare complaints, we continually lose money on incorrect orders without receiving sufficient compensation. When issues arise, we get stuck in an endless loop: the delivery service pushes responsibility onto the restaurant, and the restaurant pushes us back to the delivery service. The excuse is always the same - it's not their fault.
This upsetting situation exacerbates the already excessive costs linked to service and delivery fees, not mentioning the tips we willingly pay to support the drivers. It's high time this issue is addressed comprehensively. In 2020, nearly 43% of consumers stated they were dissatisfied with the customer service from food delivery services, a significant increase from prior years (Source: ABC Business Statistics). Despite this, no prominent changes in policy have been made to protect consumers' rights and ensure fair treatment.
We call on all food delivery platforms to establish a fair and transparent refund policy that leaves no room for passing the buck. In the event of incorrect orders, there must be a guarantee for a full refund or correct replacement to ensure that consumers get what they paid for. These delivery services often offer less than fair credits that result in reordering, additional service fees and tips, and loss of valuable time.
Sign this petition, and let's push for a change in policy that respects consumers' rights and guarantees quality service across all food delivery platforms along with adequate customer service that isn't AI generated - generic copy/paste responses and lack of understanding. There are also no means of contacting many of these companies directly and most result to chat only responses and no direct support like - even for folks who pay monthly subscription options for higher benefits.
