I have witnessed many families in Dorking, struggling to access halal products. Our local Muslim community's needs are not being met by the supermarkets in our area. Elderly individuals, in particular, face a significant challenge in traveling to nearby towns such as Leatherhead and Redhill simply to purchase their dietary essentials.

The Muslim community in Dorking is growing. However, unlike Sainsbury's branches in Redhill and Leatherhead, the Sainsbury's in Dorking does not cater to this essential need within our community. The lack of accessibility to halal products within the town forces many residents to travel considerable distances to fulfill their dietary needs.

The issue has been brought to the attention of Sainsbury's, yet no significant actions have been taken to address it. Halal is not just a dietary preference; it is a requirement for many people within our community.
