Petition to Implement a Documented Exchange Feature on Roblox to Prevent Fraud and Protect Players

Subject: Request for a Documented Exchange Feature to Protect Users and Prevent Fraud

We, the undersigned, are writing to urge Roblox to implement a much-needed feature to protect its users, particularly children, from deceitful exchanges and scams. Roblox is a platform enjoyed by millions of children and young people worldwide, but the current system allows for fraudulent trading practices that put users at risk of emotional distress, loss of items, and other negative outcomes.

The Problem:
On Roblox, players often engage in trades or exchanges, offering items from their base or inventory in return for items from another player. Unfortunately, many of these exchanges are not always conducted fairly, with some players taking advantage of others by backing out of deals or engaging in theft.

Currently, Roblox lacks a built-in feature to properly document these exchanges, leaving players without a proper record of what was agreed upon, making it difficult to resolve disputes or prove a scam.

Our Request:
We request that Roblox Corporation upgrade its trading system to include the following features:

Documented Exchanges: Implement a feature that records the details of every exchange between two players. This documentation should include:

The item(s) being traded by each player.
A clear description of what is being offered and what is being received.
The specific in-game locations or bases involved in the exchange.
A “Confirm Exchange” Button: Add a confirmation button that allows both players to agree to the trade before it takes place. This button should:

Prompt both players to review the exchange details to ensure fairness.
Require both players to acknowledge the trade, reducing the risk of misunderstandings or fraud.
A Clear Log of Exchanges: Provide a log of past exchanges in the player's profile, allowing them to review any completed trades and track the items they received or gave away. This feature would serve as a reference in case a dispute arises over the exchange.
Reporting and Dispute Resolution: Integrate a reporting system specifically for documented exchanges, so that players who feel they have been scammed can easily file a report. This system should include the ability to flag exchanges that appear suspicious or fraudulent and allow moderators to review the evidence before taking action.
Why This Matters:
The current system leaves young players vulnerable to unfair trades, emotional distress, and in some cases, theft. This lack of documentation and accountability undermines trust in the platform and damages the experience for many users. By implementing a documented exchange feature, Roblox can create a safer and more transparent environment where players can engage in trades with confidence and fairness.

Provide children with a sense of security when trading items on the platform.
