I am a resident living near the London Road in Bishops Stortford and have personally witnessed the alarming increase in collisions on the road, and the risks posed to pedestrians, particularly young children. This road has become increasingly unsafe with accidents becoming more frequent. The crossing is used by children attending the local nursery, primary schools and high schools in the area. 

Evidence shows that reducing speed limits to 20mph can save lives and reduce collisions by up to 40%. Contrary to common misconceptions, this reduction does not cause congestion or significantly impact journey times. By implementing this change on London Road, we will be taking a significant step towards ensuring the safety of our community.
