The Issue

Judge Germaine Tanner of the 311th Family Court in Harris County, Texas, has demonstrated a disturbing pattern of unethical conduct and blatant bias that demands immediate action. As a district court judge and therefore a "state officer" subject to impeachment under Sec. 665.002 of Texas law, and removable by address according to Sec. 665.051, Judge Tanner's actions have eroded the foundations of justice, devastated lives, and fractured families within our community.

My own experience in Judge Tanner's courtroom was marked by her overt bias and dismissive treatment. I was denied a fair opportunity to present my case, as her decisions appeared to be rooted in prejudgments and her apparent connections with opposing counsel. This is not merely a personal grievance; it is a desperate plea for equitable treatment for all parents who have suffered under her unjust rulings.

Credible accounts reveal a consistent abuse of power by Judge Tanner. Fit and loving parents have been unjustly penalized, while favored attorneys, particularly those with prior professional ties to her, receive preferential treatment. Conversely, self-represented litigants and those without established connections often face hostility and are subjected to inequitable outcomes.

Compounding these issues, Judge Tanner has repeatedly refused to recuse herself from cases where clear conflicts of interest exist. This blatant disregard for judicial impartiality undermines the integrity of our legal system, prioritizing personal allegiances over the fundamental principles of fairness and justice.

A judge's paramount responsibility is to administer justice without prejudice. When this duty is betrayed, the consequences extend far beyond individual cases, eroding public trust in the judiciary. Numerous families in Harris County bear the emotional and financial scars of Judge Tanner's biased judgments.

To safeguard the sanctity and fairness of our legal system, accountability is not an option—it is a necessity. By signing this petition, you stand in solidarity with parents and families who believe in impartial justice and demand the impeachment of Judge Germaine Tanner from her position in the 311th Family Court.
