I CAN’T AFFORD TO HAVE A BABY

The Issue

In 2022, I had both of my fallopian tubes removed due to serious medical complications. Because of this, my only chance to become a mother is through in vitro fertilization (IVF).

IVF is not optional for me—it is my only path to having a child.

But the cost is overwhelming. Each cycle can cost tens of thousands of dollars, and most insurance plans do not cover fertility treatments. For many families like mine, the dream of becoming parents is not blocked by biology—it is blocked by cost.

Infertility is a medical condition, not a choice. Yet thousands of Texans are forced to put their dreams of having children on hold because they simply cannot afford treatment.

We are calling on Texas leaders, including Governor Greg Abbott, to take action to make IVF and fertility treatments more affordable and accessible. This includes:

Expanding insurance coverage for IVF and fertility care
Supporting state programs that assist families facing infertility
Advocating for legislation that reduces the financial burden of treatment
No one should be denied the chance to build a family because of cost.

This issue affects real people—women and couples who are grieving quietly, hoping quietly, and fighting to become parents despite overwhelming financial barriers.

I want to be a mother. Many of us do.

Please sign this petition to help make IVF accessible and affordable for Texas families who have no other path to parenthood.
