To prevent further deaths on Barmah–Shepp Rd, Kaarimba be fixed immediately
The issue
October saw some of the worst floods in rural Victoria's history leaving many main roads, which were already in a deteriorating state, to a substandard with many potholes that are nothing short of appalling.
The section of Barmah – Shepparton Rd, Kaarimba (between Prentices & Hick Roads) has been reported to many authorities by local residents and those who travel the section of road for their work, explaining it is very dangerous and has fallen on deaf ears with little to no action being taken. Meanwhile, those who travel the section of road, suffer from damaged cars from the pothole.

Recently a fatality occurred due to inadequate signage warning motorists of the dangerous potholes in the road.

Local residents again have made pleas to authorities and a shabby repair was done, only to start crumbing in days.

The Andrew’s Government has pledged $165 million to repair the roads, but no money seems to have been spent in the area to do any repairs to the roads.
Many country roads including the Hume and Goulburn Valley Highways have been long neglected before any floods. Meanwhile, gold plated train overpasses are being built in Melbourne to reduce the number of accidents. Even the wire barriers along the Hume & GV Highways are not being repaired.
It's time the Andrews Government spends some money in the regional areas of Victoria and not think Victoria ends at Melbourne.
The Barmah – Shepparton Rd, Kaarimba, needs urgent action now before any more death occurs. The road needs to be fixed now, and until it is repaired it needs appropriate signage so traffic is stopped and only one lane can pass at a time.
This matter doesn't simply stop with general road users but poses a risk to our wonderful first responders/emergency vehicles also.
