The Issue

Recent developments in the Middle East have raised concerns about the UK's military involvement in Iran. As citizens, we believe our military should be acting in our national interests, not serving the agendas of foreign leaders like President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu.

The potential for military conflict in Iran is alarming. Historical precedents have shown that military interventions often lead to devastating consequences, affecting not only the countries directly involved but also the whole region. This raises significant humanitarian concerns, with the possibility of civilian casualties, infrastructure destruction, and further destabilization.

The UK has always championed peace and diplomacy as a means to resolve international disputes. Engaging in military actions without broad and transparent public debate contradicts this ethos. It is alarming that our soldiers, funded by taxpayers' money, could be exposed to danger based on decisions made under political pressures rather than strategic necessity.

We must not be drawn into conflicts that don't directly pertain to our national security. Parliament should be a key part of deciding such critical matters. Therefore, we call for an immediate emergency vote in UK Parliament to reconsider and subsequently terminate the UK's military involvement in Iran.

This issue is not just about political alliances but about the core values we hold as a nation. Maintaining peace and focusing on diplomatic channels should always be our priority.

Join us in urging the UK government to uphold parliamentary democracy and prioritize the will and safety of the people. Sign this petition to demand a transparent review and necessary parliamentary action to bring our troops back home and end our involvement in military operations in Iran.
