In the UK majority of the national and international courier services are not actually regulated and like Hermes Parcel net Ltd (Hermes UK/Hermes Europe) are not accountable for loss of items whilst in that particular companies possession.

Far too often customers items have mysteriously disappeared from depots around the UK with the complaints either not being answered or refunds being issued for up to 80% less than the value of the missing item/s. 

Some may say this could be classes as profiteering?

Hermes UK recently hit the press with a documentary series on Channel 4 for deliberately diverting high valued items to be sold at auction, despite the customers delivery details still clearly showing on the parcels. Upon further research I have found Hermes Parcelnet Ltd's majority shareholder is Grattan Public Limited Company who's majority shareholder is Freemans Grattan Holidings Limited.. Do these names sound familiar? Two major UK catalogue brands!

Enough is enough and the time to regulate courier services throughout the UK should start now!
