Help Stranded Healthcare Workers in the UK Find Employment and Secure Futures

The Issue

PETITION BY JESUSCINA FOUNDATION ON BEHALF OF STRANDED HEALTHCARE ASSISTANTS IN THE UK

Jesuscina foundation is a registered charity in the UK with the primary aim of supporting migrants who wants to settle down in the UK. For sometime now, so many destitute people come to with the same story of being lied to. As an organisation with limited resources that can not meet the needs of these people, we decided to use this platform to appeal to the general public for us to join forces to help find solution to this problem.

Many individual overseas migrants, along with their families, were brought into the UK with the promise of healthcare jobs through visa sponsorship programmes. Unfortunate circumstances have transpired, which now find many healthcare assistants stranded and unable to find employment within the healthcare sector. Further challenging their plight is the inability to move into other sectors due to restrictions on their tier two (skilled worker) visa types.

This petition seeks the attention of the UK government to address the pressing issue of these stranded healthcare assistants who are unable to secure employment despite their qualifications and skills and willingness to work. A worrying number of these overseas healthcare workers remain jobless and in a state of limbo, unable to switch industries due to visa restrictions.

The situation requires the intervention by the government to create an enabling avenue that would allow these healthcare assistants to work full-time in other industries. They need flexible policies that value skill sets where possible rather than limiting employment opportunities to narrowly defined sectors. This not only benefits stranded individuals and their families but also broadens the skill pool within the country’s workforce and as well for them to also contribute to the development of the Nation.

These are group of people who were lied to. Deception from start of their contract were promised gainful employment, only to be left unemployed and stranded.

We urge the government to respond and provide a solution that allows these individuals to shed their idle status, contribute to the economy, and ensure a livelihood for their families.

We call on compassionate citizens to sign this petition, advocating for a change that will positively affect stranded healthcare practitioners in the UK. We can’t ignore their plight, their voices must be heard. Please, sign the petition.
