5 REASONS TO SIGN

1. Because the biggest issue women face returning to work is quality, affordable care. A lack of it has a lasting affect on productivity, career progression and pension savings for women.

2. Because the waitlists are so long half the time they won't even take your name. Despite the increase in women needing to return to work we have have not met the demand.  For example, only one new fulltime childcare centre has been approved to open in the Newcastle CBD in the last 19 years. (it was approved by the State government not the council)

3. Because afforable childcare that is walkable and near work or home is better for kids, families, the environment and CBD traffic congestion.

4. Because Vanessa Alexander and the 80 WOMEN (and men) who wrote in support of opening a new child centre in the CBD deserved fair and equitable treatment from Newcastle City Council.
5. Because stories like hers make us want to start a revolution. :-)
