Help save Nicky's Foodbar from closure by Rochdale Council

The Issue

My name is Nicky, and for the past seven years, I have poured my heart and soul into building Nicky's Foodbar into more than just a stop for food. It has become a beloved gathering spot that has fostered community ties and offered a warm respite for locals, walkers, truckers, and travelers alike in the area.

Unfortunately, Rochdale Council has recently denied our latest appeal for planning permission, and we are now being forced to dismantle this cherished business within three months. This is not just a personal crisis but a community one, as Nicky’s Foodbar is an integral part of the social fabric here.

Nicky’s Foodbar is more than a mere establishment; it’s a lifeline for many. It’s the place where hikers find sustenance and warmth after a long trek, where truckers refuel not just their vehicles but their spirits, and where local families gather to create lasting memories. Over the years, we've hosted countless community events and supported numerous local causes, cementing our place in the hearts of all who visit.

The council’s decision disregards the overwhelming support and affection from the community. It is a decision that would not only strip away a valued local asset but would also rob me of my livelihood. Maintaining and growing small businesses like ours should be a priority, not endangerment.

We propose working with the council to meet planning requirements that can allow us to continue operating without compromising regulations. We are open to dialogue, adjustments in structure or procedures, or any initiative that can keep this beloved foodbar open.

We urge Rochdale Council to reconsider their decision and find a viable solution that preserves Nicky’s Foodbar for the future. Your signature can help demonstrate the community's and patrons' strong support. Let us save this local gem.

Please sign this petition and help us make our plea heard. Together, we can ensure that Nicky’s Foodbar continues to be a cornerstone in our community for many more years to come.
