I am a proud gay service veteran who has dedicated his life to serving our country. Despite the sacrifices I have made for this nation, I find myself in a desperate situation today. My husband, who is not only the love of my life but also my primary caregiver, was unjustly deported. As a disabled veteran, I rely heavily on him for my day-to-day care and well-being. Without him, I am left in a challenging and precarious position, unable to adequately care for myself.

My husband has been an impeccable partner, providing unwavering support, especially in times when my disabilities manifest severely. He has committed no crimes and has always abided by the laws of this country. His deportation was not only a detriment to our marriage but also to my physical and emotional health.

The current immigration policies have torn apart countless families like mine, leaving the most vulnerable among us without the support they need. It is time to reevaluate these policies and consider the profound impact they have on lives and families, especially those involving veterans who have already given so much to their nation.

I am calling on immigration officials, lawmakers, and all compassionate citizens to take a stand and help bring my husband back to the United States. He deserves a fair chance to live with his family, and I deserve the support my conditions necessitate.
