Help Decrease New Mexico's Issue of Overcrowding Prisons

The Issue

New Mexico has recently grown a problem in overcrowding prisons. Because of the high crime rates mostly in Albuquerque, it has caused prisons to face a major issue of the police department in New Mexico not being able to focus on everything at once, which causes even higher crime rates. This problem has been affecting the government because of the backlash they're getting, not to mention the amount of citizens that have been harmed due to the lack of safety.

Overcrowding prisons also cause criminals to get away with crimes when the government is distributing their focus in an unequal way. The police department and the government are at the stake because they're already going downhill with everything happening, making the highest members work somewhere else.

The time for citizens to work together and take actions is now. The reason behind this is because if we don't solve this problem and the amount of prisoners keep increasing, it could eventually lead to a governmental crisis for New Mexico and probably also other states trying to contribute to the issue. As for the government, it would be difficult to get them to enforce policies but this petition creates a new sense of awareness which could lead up to the government's response.
