Help Bring Solar to Affordable Housing!
We all know that solar energy is good. It's good for the air, helps to address global warming, and can save us money (in the long term). While you can get the money you spent to install a solar power system back in just a few years now in many states, the upfront costs are still significant. And for lower income families, that normally means solar energy is out of the question.
Yet, lower income families are the ones who could benefit the most from long-term savings on their electricity bills.
A program in California called MASH, or Multifamily Affordable Solar Housing, is dedicating over $100 million to help subsidize solar energy for affordable homes, and it seems to be working well. It seems that it's about time to have such a program on the national level.
Let your representatives in Congress and President Obama know that you want MASH extended nationwide! Sign our petition and help spread solar to the homes most in need.

California has a model program, Multifamily Affordable Solar Housing (MASH), that is using money from the California Solar Initiative (CSI) to help fund solar installations on affordable homes. This is a great program and is already making a change in the lives of lower income U.S. citizens.
The program is also creating local jobs.
If this program were implemented on a national scale, imagine the difference it would make!
I am asking and urging you, as my representative in U.S. government, to help create and promote a program like MASH nationwide.
Please, help bring our nation to a better level.
