Since Iranians started their new phase of protests in late December 2025, we have done our best to show the world that the Iranian people are separate from the government and the regime. We want the international community to understand that the actions of the regime do not represent the will, culture, or values of the Iranian people.

First of all, the self-proclaimed Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, does not represent all Iranians. Many citizens do not recognize him as their legitimate leader.

Most importantly, many Iranian protesters and those who oppose the regime deliberately do not call him “Ali Khamenei.” Instead, we refer to him as “Moshali” as a form of protest and rejection.

We respectfully ask international media, activists, and public figures to understand this distinction and recognize that he does not represent the Iranian people.

He is not our leader.

Call him “Moshali” to support Iranian protest.
