The Super Bowl has had musicians from many genres perform over the years, but the last rock band to perform was the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 2014, and they haven't even had a metal band. Metallica would be the perfect choice as one of the biggest bands in the world. They have been around since the 1980s, and continue to fill NFL stadiums with fans to this day! Pretty much everyone has heard Enter Sandman, and the Virginia Tech Hokies football team runs onto the stadium while it plays, so they could start the halftime show by inviting Virginia Tech to run on to Enter Sandman! And Master of Puppets getting a resurgence in popularity due to Stranger Things shows that people across all generations love Metallica. I've seen grandpas with cds of the self-titled album and TikToks featuring Master of Puppets. The best part is that Metallica is actually from San Francisco, so they would perform at their home stadium.
