As a long-standing resident and business owner in Treorchy, I am personally concerned about the influx of vape shops in our beloved town. Our family business, like many others, contributes positively to the economy and spirit of our award-winning town. Yet, the rise in vape shops is casting a shadow on our vibrant community.

Currently, we have two vape shops, with plans for a third to open soon. This increase is not reflecting the needs of our community, nor is it enhancing the quality of life for us residents. Furthermore, research has shown that the proliferation of vape shops can contribute to increased rates of nicotine addiction, especially amongst young people – an issue we must prevent in Treorchy (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).

In defence of our town’s vibrancy, health, and strong sense of community, we are taking a stance. Let us retain the charm and well-being of Treorchy by preventing the establishment of more vape shops.
