The Issue

Residents of Queens Common should not have to shoulder the burdens of an ill-advised construction project in their own backyard. The proposed 8-story high-rise threatens to disrupt our peaceful community and exacerbate the existing challenges we face. As concerned citizens living in this neighborhood, we have already witnessed crime rates increasing, traffic becoming unbearable, and our schools struggling to accommodate all children. The introduction of an imposing new structure would disrupt the infrastructure we currently rely on, leading to further overcrowding and a decline in property values.

We understand the need for development, but this should not come at the expense of existing communities. A potential surge in population could lead our local schools to their breaking points and result in diminishing quality of education for our children. The increased congestion would not only be a nuisance but also pose safety risks due to the rise in traffic accidents. Moreover, the impact on property values would be disastrous for homeowners who have invested their life savings into providing a stable home for their families moreover losing a much needed daycare for many families in our area in an time where daycare needed drastically.

We are standing together to preserve our community from potential harm and ask for your support. Please sign this petition to demand that city officials reconsider the construction of the proposed 8-story building in the Queens Common neighborhood. Together, we can protect our community, our homes, and our quality of life.
