I conducted a workshop in Durga Devi School near Nahar Amrit Shakti with girls from 5th to 8th grade. Instead of them just getting to know about periods we helped them gain knowledge of the physical and mental aspects of this stage. We told them about topics such as vaginal discharge, Pubic hair, Pimples and acne, sexual feelings, peer pressure, etc. They asked us many questions and even requested us to visit them again!! According to me I had a great impact on the girls in Durga Devi School. They did not have any access to information prior to the workshop that we conducted regarding puberty. They were surprisingly inquisitive and open about these topics. I was very scared as I thought that they might not be that open to talk about such a sensitive topic but they were very sweet. They took some time to open up to me but when they did we had tons of fun. They danced and were always smiling. They paid great attention to me and were able to answer all the questions that I had for them. I learnt that only a few from them knew about periods and that was just because they had gotten them! They were very appreciative.
