Depression & Anxiety TMS vs Medications life Saving Care: 

I am part of the many people suffering the debilitating illness of Depression & Anxiety; which has been one of our largest illness; and in this past year 2020 many more have sadly been diagnosed too... the "treatments" i.e. medications available to treat these illness are endless and the amount of trial and error approach can see some patients lives heavily impacted; this maybe you... or a loved one. 

I personally still and have suffered with Depression MDD disorder for over 8+ years, and in that time gone through 10+ medications and eventually diagnosed with TRD treatment resistant depression - meaning no one/ any typical medications could or would help... thus I was lucky enough to get TMS, however now the costs cant be sustained and Medicare need to approved a rebate... and extend this care to ALL who are plagued by the grip of this awful illness Depression.

I was lucky enough to be able to use my private health, but had to stay in hospital; proven that it affects the results negatively, and then as an outpatient I have spent over $20,000.00 in costs, and not received a $1 back from medicare.... and can't afford this anymore...

However, Professor Paul Fitzgerald and many other public hospitals only allow TMS as in patient care; i.e. if you can afford private health OR can afford the outrageous costs of $180 - $200 per session; you will need 20 - 30 sessions in your first round, thus you will be paying: $5000+ for this and NO REBATE is offered. 

Thus you or your loved one will be having to spending tens of thousands in the first year alone...

Mr Greg Hunt, Health Minister Australia - Medicare have received several submissions from Professor Paul Fitzgerald - which show the research and findings that prove this works!

Professor Paul Fitzgerald, Psychiatrist - Epworth Healthcare and the director of the Epworth Centre for Innovation in Mental Health 

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) has called on the government to fund the treatment, saying it should be affordable and, where appropriate, offered for the treatment of major depression.
