Amanda Osborne started this petition to Governor of Texas Greg Abbott and

We must all come together to protect our most vulnerable.

The pandemic's impact on our people is far from over, especially as the new variants, such as Delta, sweep through the country. Each day cases, hospitalizations, and even deaths are on the rise, and it is impacting children now more than ever. While many people have chosen to get vaccinated against the virus, some people choose not to vaccinate AND many do not have that option due to age or preexisting medical conditions.

These conditions leave many people vulnerable, especially our children! Although many people feel optimistic about having their children attend in-person school during the 2021-2022 school year, others do not. Some people have circumstances that make in-person school dangerous for their kids and/or families. Several districts across the state are making the decision to mandate masks and even provide virtual options, despite the lack of funding; however, not every district offers any options.

As these vulnerable people in our society face the start of the school year, many people are without options. This petition is on behalf of these people who need the option to be educated in a virtual setting. This request does not remove the option for families to send their children to school in person, if that is their choice. Rather, this petition simply asks that families be given the option for virtual learning for their children.

Please sign this petition and help us make a difference for the children and families who are most vulnerable in our state by giving them the option to continue learning from home, if needed! Thank you for your consideration.
