The Issue

My name is Kiyla Lamar, and I’m asking for your support to help bring my husband home.

Rollie Lamar is serving an 18-year federal sentence for nonviolent marijuana-related offenses: conspiracy to distribute marijuana, money laundering, and firearm possession in furtherance of a drug crime. He is a first time offender and he has taken full responsibility for his past—but the sentence he received is devastatingly harsh. And it reflects a broader injustice: as of 2020, over 40,000 people in the U.S. remain behind bars for cannabis-related offenses, even as marijuana has become legal in many states and profitable for corporations.

Rollie is a devoted father of six, a man of deep faith, and someone who has transformed during his time in prison. He has committed himself to being a better husband, father, and mentor. He dreams of coming home and launching youth mentorship programs in churches, schools, and community centers—programs focused on teaching trade skills, decision-making, and responsibility to guide kids away from street life.

He wants to serve—not just his time—but his community.

Rollie also suffers from serious health conditions, including Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and neuropathy. These issues are only worsened in prison, where he receives limited care. Keeping him locked away is not only unjust—it’s inhumane.

This petition is about more than one man. It’s about justice, compassion, and correcting outdated laws that continue to ruin lives and break families apart. Please sign and share this petition to grant clemency to Rollie Lamar, so he can reunite with his family and help uplift the next generation.

Let’s stand up for second chances, for healing, and for justice.
