The Issue
People of Kirriemuir are currently being priced out of their home town by the monopoly held by the Co-operative. There are 2 supermarkets in town and both are the co-op. The prices are inflated and local people are having to endure the indignity of using the local food bank as they cannot afford to pay co-op prices, which are ridiculously high. This is a disgrace and as a campaign we ask that either the co-op lowers the prices or allow another supermarket chain in town to stimulate competition. Please sign this petition to support your neighbours in this time of need, it is hugely unfair that the unemployed, disabled and those on low income are unable to afford to shop in their home town. The local foodbank is doing an amazing job, however it is disgraceful that it is needed in the first place.
