Tipton St John Primary School is a small rural school with a big heart. The buildings are deteriorating and the lower site prefab buildings were put in site as a temporary measure over 20 years ago. The brook and stream that flow through the village towards the River Otter, regularly result in flooding and therefore disruption for our school. After consultation with different agencies, the final conclusion is that building a new school in Tipton will not be funded and the governors have issued a letter to make parents aware of a consultation meeting to discuss their plans for the future. These future plans include building a new primary school, in place of Tipton, in the town of Ottery St Mary.
