Reduce the closure time of Prince Edward Island's recreational fisheries!

The anglers of Prince Edward Island are extremely disappointed by the actions of our provincial government today. The total closure of our recreational fisheries until June 1st is considered unacceptable to many Islanders, and should be re evaluated immediately. While many Province's are letting there recreational fisheries open as normal with social distancing guidelines and words of caution to follow... our province is closing down our right to fish and enjoy a past time that creates a great opportunity to social distance. We the anglers are asking the provincial government to reduce the closure to May 1st, a much more acceptable date that coincides with our Provincial neighbor Nova Scotia's decision. The Prince Edward Island Government has rushed this decision and went well beyond what's acceptable to Island anglers. If the season is delayed until June 1st it will effectively cancel our most productive time of year for trout fishing, something thousands of P.E.I anglers live for.
Let's speak up people!! It's not fair to us Islanders to have to watch fellow Canadians safely enjoy our favorite pastime while we get locked out!
