Bring Dubia Roaches to Canada

Bring Dubia Roaches to Canada
The Issue
As a reptile owner, and a reptile lover, I want the best for our scaly friends. A huge part of reptile health is their diet. As far as feeder insects go Dubias are nutritionally superior to other feeder bugs. These amazing bugs are a perfect staple feeder. They do not jump, or fly, and grow to sizes that cater to our reptiles as they grow. Unlike cockroaches, dubias are a clean species. Dubias thrive in tropical climates and pose no threat to our ecosystems because they would could not survive our harsh winters. Because dubias can consume a plant based diet their feces does not create a bad smell, and thus does not attract pests like mites and flies.
Crickets (the staple feeder we most often use in canada) are the most likely bugs to carry parasites. These parasites pass to our reptiles and can cause infection and death. There is no research to link roaches to parasites. Crickets also jump, bite, smell horrible, are very loud, and can escape enclosures. Dubia roaches make no noise, do not bite, jump, or fly and cannot climb glass or slick plastic.
When it comes to the safety and health of our pets, and the cleanliness of our homes. Dubia Roaches are by far the best choice; the safest choice.
I would appreciate your consideration on lifting the ban on dubia roaches as feeders in Canada.
Thank you!
