Once, someone asked Mr Foley how he felt about the re-naming of the school hall and priest hill pavilion after teachers who had worked at Glyn for 25 years (The Proctor hall after Mr Proctor, and the Beeken Sports Pavillion after Mr Beeken). Mr Foley then joked that the school might name something like the canteen after him if he stayed at Glyn for 25 years. - The new build has also now been named the Chaloner Building due to the contributions Mr Chaloner made to the school during his time as headteacher.

Mr Foley ended up working at Glyn for 20 years, between 1993 and 2013.

I feel that renaming the canteen after Mr Foley is something that as a school we should do. During his 20 years at Glyn, Mr Foley remained a loved and respected teacher and feel that his time at Glyn should be remembered and recognised in a more permanent way. Hopefully the people who have the power to make this decision will be influenced by a display of interest in this outcome. I think the response to the news of his death is enough proof itself.
