Gleb Glebov is a math lab facilitator at Douglas College. He’s been fired before from his position at SFU as a sessional instructor for the same reasons being brought up now, due to a successful student led and supported petition. Before that he was fired from FIC for videos he publicly uploaded on Youtube about his overtly homophobic, transphobic, religiously discriminatory and rapist apologist views.

He stated in his videos he thinks women who have abortions and the doctors who perform them should be put to death, that most rape allegations are excuses for women to get abortions, rape wouldn’t happen if women were married, transgender people should all be institutionalized, all non Christian gods are the antichrist/satan and homosexuality and transgender indentities are against nature and “garbage”. 

He claimed the videos were meant to be “sermons”.

Hiring this person at Douglas College in any role goes against the college’s claims to support diversity and students in general, including their right to be and feel safe.  How are we going to have gender inclusive washrooms, the DSU pride collective club, spaces for people of different faiths to pray in and sexual violence prevention/education,  but also this guy teaching students seeking help? Actions speak louder than words.
