University Avenue is a dangerous road. Several cyclist have been killed on this road. But it also a road on which children and students bike/walk every day on their way to the nursery (Kelvin Park), to school (Hilllhead) and to University.

There is cycle path on University road, but is extremely dangerous as cars regularly park on it, especially in the narrowest part of the road, at the junction with Bank Street and Kelvin Way.

By parking at this junction, cars not only block the the cycle path, pushing cyclist into the middle of the road in a very narrow area subject to high traffic, but they also put in danger the children who walk/ bike on the pavement. One day, a 4X4 almost run into my child as she was riding his bike on the pavement - the driver clearly did not see her.

The police does not have the resources to control the situation; therefore the only way to make this road safe, and prevent more people from getting killed, is to install physical separators between the cycle path and the road.
