Glasgow City Council, the largest local government body in Scotland, is responsible for implementing local policies and delivering an array of public services within Glasgow, the largest city in the country. The council operates under a structure of 85 councillors representing 23 multi-member wards, democratically elected through a proportional voting system. Glasgow City Council oversees matters related to economic development, housing, social work, culture, parks, and environmental policy among others, in an effort to enhance the quality of life for all of Glasgow's diverse residents and communities.
