On Thursday 19 August 2021 it was announced that the LGA's of the Central Coast & Shellharbour have been redefined as "REGIONAL" while the Wollongong LGA will remain a part of GREATER SYDNEY 

We, the people of Wollongong, want to know why both the other LGA's have been reclassified when residents from both have connection to Sydney, with people travelling there for work, as they do from Wollongong. We have only had 20 cases, in our region, since the outbreak began on June 16 .... keeping us as part of Greater Sydney, and releasing Shellharbour and the Central Coast defies belief and we ask that you reconsider the decision the NSW Government has made today
