Give students year 10-12 Wednesday off

The Issue

In the spirit of liberty and the pursuit of a brighter educational future, we, the senior students of Australia, unite to champion the just cause of granting Wednesday off from our arduous academic journey. As we traverse the final years of our schooling, burdened with the weight of both teacher-guided independent work and the looming specter of the HSC exams, the pressure becomes almost suffocating. Our mental well-being is put to the test, and the consequences of stress and burnout become all too real. The gravity of this situation is further exacerbated by the fact that, as teenagers, our sleep schedules are inherently shifted, rendering traditional early morning starts even more challenging. By granting us a mid-week respite, we can better align with our natural rhythms, improving our overall cognitive function, focus, and emotional stability. Our collective call is not one of indolence, but rather a plea for recognition that we, too, deserve breaks in order to foster a balanced approach to education that respects our health and affirms our right to reclaim our lives beyond the confines of relentless academic demands.
