This petition has reached 2000 and I am giving 4th update.

When I started this petition, MTF has not announced VTL yet. Upon hearing their decision to let unvaccinated HK/Macau/China and travellers under VTL to enter without 14 days SHN at govt dedicated facilities, my instinct tells me we are heading into more trouble.

Since April when Delta entered, we are already experiencing big TTS/Airport/KTV/JFP/Bus clusters. Till now we are Not able to break the chain yet, is MTF very sure when mutated NEW virus Mu/C12/Lamdha enter, they are able to handle and manage the risk ? 

I am NOT against border reopening. I clearly stated in petition I fully understand Singapore cannot close border for long term as we need ESSENTIAL workers, necessities and food supplies. 

However, for NON-ESSENTIAL leisure travellers, to make it worse, removing the requirement of 14 SHN at dedicated facilities, my question - “IS THIS THE RIGHT TIME ?” 

I seriously hope MTF can re-evaluate border measures and look into how the RISK of import cases can be minimise to safeguard Singaporean. 

Endemic or Pandemic ?
MTF need to make up their mind.

MTF has stopped reporting UNLINKED cases, stop disclosing “possible exposure” in our TraceTogether app, stop announcing clusters (unless big).
With so many UNKNOWNS, are we able to live with virus ?? 
In the 1st place, do we even agree to accept it as endemic ? Not forgetting, WHO has not even declare yet. 

Easy for them to say live with virus, with data shown vaccine efficacy wane, is Singaporean prepared to take never ending booster jabs every 6 months ? 

Furthermore for medically unfit people and children below 12 who cannot take vaccine, do we just leave them behind ?
Singaporean must take care of each other, the strong ones must protect the weak vulnerable, isn’t this the basic belief we should hold ?

Seeing 500+ infection cases daily and the mess we are in now, my heart really aches. I am sad and disappointed as all our past 1+ year efforts seem to have gone into drain. I am sure many have same feeling as me. 

Majority of us hv heed Govt advise to vaccinate, diligently wear masks, restrict social activities,regularly do ART test, follow SMM, obediently do SafeEntry etc, what hv we NOT done ? 

Think is time to hv two-way frank communication between Govt and Singaporean. We need to reach an “agreement” what is the RISK LEVEL all can accept. 

Being a small country with no natural resources, the only asset we have is Singaporean 人民.

Like I mentioned in my previous update, between HEALTH and wealth, the choice is actually very clear. 

Life is very precious. All we ask for is our family and love ones be safe and healthy, is this too much to ask for ?

Ultimately, whatever decisions they make, IF it is for the interest of Singaporeans, I believe majority will stand by them. Afterall they did an excellent job last year, Now, i just hope they can pause their endemic plan, rethink and re-evaluate the situation and make sure we are really going into the RIGHT direction. 

Lastly, if everyone agree, I am considering  email this petition and 4th update to Straits Times/TODAY forum. Do let me know if anyone of you feel uncomfortable (kindly leave comment inbox). Don’t worry, I will pend till I get consensus before I proceed.
