Dear all, thank you for your tremendous support !

This petition has reached 2500 and I am giving 5th update.

I hv email below to Straits Times forum and TODAY. If it is not picked by media, I will email directly to MTF team once the petition reached 3000 signatures.

Meantime, please kindly help to share the petition and let our voices be heard !

This is the article I wrote to Straits times/TODAY >>

Endemic or Pandemic ?
Can MTF make up their mind ?

IF this is endemic, the request to reduce non-essential social activities and massive testing for next few weeks to slow down the speed of transmission seems contradictory.
Furthermore, the recent “Home Recovery” scheme, many patients voice confusion and frustrating with no support given.
Are we ready for endemic ?

IF this is pandemic, is it appropriate to allow unvaccinated HK/Macau/China and 2300 Germany/Brunei travellers under VTL to enter without SHN at govt dedicated facilities ?

My instinct tells me we are heading into more trouble.

Since April when Delta virus entered, we are already experiencing big clusters TTS/Airport/Bukit Merah/KTV/JFP/Bus interchanges. Till now, we are NOT able to break the infection chain yet.

Is MTF very sure when mutated new virus Mu/Lamdba enter, they are able to manage the risk ?

I am NOT against border reopening. I fully understand Singapore cannot close border for long term as we need ESSENTIAL workers, necessities and food supplies.

However, for NON-ESSENTIAL travellers, my question - “IS THIS THE RIGHT TIME” ?

I seriously hope MTF can re-evaluate border measures and look into how the RISK OF IMPORT CASES can be minimise to safeguard Singaporean.

MTF has stopped disclosing “possible exposure” in our TraceTogether app, stopped reporting UNLINKED cases, stopped announcing clusters (unless big).

With so many UNKNOWNS, how do we live with virus ?
In the 1st place, do we Singaporean even agree to accept it as endemic ?

Easy for them to say live with virus, with data shown vaccine efficacy wane, are we prepared to take never ending booster jabs every 6 months ?

Furthermore for medically unfit people and children below 12 years old who cannot take the vaccine, do we just leave them behind ?

Singaporean must take care of each other, the Strong ones must protect the weak vulnerable, isn’t this the basic belief which we all should hold ?

Seeing 1k infection cases daily and with prediction of even 2k - 3k, my heart sank.
All our past 1+ year efforts seem to hv gone into drain.

Majority Singaporean hv heed MTF advise to vaccinate, diligently wear masks, reduce social activities, obediently do SafeEntry, follow SMM, regularly conduct ART tests etc. What have we NOT done ?

Think is time to have a two-way frank communication between Govt and Singaporean. We need to reach consensus what is the RISK LEVEL all can accept.

Being a small country with no natural resources, the only asset we have is Singaporean 人民.

Between HEALTH and wealth, the choice is actually very clear.

Life is very precious.
All we want is our family and love ones be safe and healthy. Is this too much to ask for ?

Last year, MTF has done an excellent job. Now, I just hope they can pause the endemic plan, re-evaluate the situation and make sure we are really going into the RIGHT direction.

Ultimately, whatever decision they made, IF it is for the interest of Singaporean, we will definitely stand by them.

Lastly, I hope Singapore can tide through this crisis, irregardless of race, language or religion, vaccinated or unvaccinated.
