Dear Ministry Task Force. Mr Gan Kim Yong, Mr Lawrence Wong and Mr Ong Ye Kung.

I fully understand Singapore cannot close borders for long term. May I urge a stronger control of import cases by enforcing a stricter measure of 7-14 days SHN at dedicated facilities for all inbound travellers, regardless of nationality.

1) Latest Israel data shown Pfizer efficacy wane after 5 months and is only 39% effective against Delta infection. 

2) With Omicron new variant, community spread is expected to increase. 

3) We are battle weary. We do not want to have another round of drastic measures with import cases again.

4) I hope MTF can review Airport/VTL safety and strengthen internal measures first. 

5) Kids below 5 years old are not able to vaccinate yet.

6) With opening of borders, other new mutated virus will enter. We do not want to take 4-5-6-7th booster as long term side effects not known yet.

Border is our 1st important line of defence we must fiercely guard. 

Healthcare system is our last important step of defence we must protect. 

It takes both hands to clap. No point asking us to vaccinate but there are increase import cases causing community spread. 

WHO has not declare endemic yet. We should take cautious approach to safeguard our health and safety.

If severe community outbreak again, the world will shut against us.
