My sister has Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC). We have had to tirelessly fundraise, beg, and borrow to get Immunotherapy for her. At nearly $11,000 a dose every 3 weeks, she has had to continue to work full time to help support her family while going through all of this hell. What’s worse is she has had to go privately due to there also being no funding to have Keytruda administered at general hospitals, meaning they will not do it which would have saved thousands!

Keytruda is proven effective against TNBC and reduces the chances of recurrence. It is funded for breast cancer in many other countries but not in New Zealand. The National Government campaigned on funding new cancer medications; however, immunotherapy for breast cancer was not on that list, and none of the promised medications are on the table anymore.
