Friends of Father John Moineau
The Issue
Bishop Larry Kulick of the Diocese of Greensburg unjustly forced the resignation of Fr. John Moineau, pastor of Immaculate Conception and Elizabeth Ann Seton parishes on May 28, 2024, accusing him of leading a conspiracy to hide the hiring of an accused employee. The bishop and the diocese knew of this employee's failure to pass the necessary clearance back in 2012 when the hiring pastor at the time brought it to their attention. Once the ex-diocesan employee was charged with crimes against a child in May 2024, the bishop and the diocese attempted to place all blame on Fr. Moineau. The Westmoreland County District Attorney investigated the bishop’s accusations and totally exonerated Fr. Moineau and his staff of any charged conspiracies. The canonical investigation commissioned by Bishop Kulick also found Fr. Moineau innocent of the conspiratorial charges, however, the bishop’s judgement rendered was that Fr. Moineau never, ever, be allowed to celebrate Masses again at Immaculate Conception, or Elizabeth Ann Seton, nor in our Irwin and North Irwin communities. The emotional and physical stress that Bishop Kulick has personally inflicted on Fr. Moineau, a true servant of God who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on October 25, 2024, demands that the bishop be held accountable — Bishop Kulick is a shepherd that has egregiously violated and lost the trust of his flock, and has steadfastly refused to restore Fr. Moineau's reputation and dignity.
