Freeze Con Edison NOT The People : STOP High Utility Bills in Mt. Vernon, NY

The Issue

We are concerned residents of Mount Vernon, NY, and it has come to our attention that the utility bills from Consolidated Edison (Con Ed) have dramatically increased recently. The sudden skyrocketing expense is delivering a heavy blow to the members of our community.

We are asking the Governor to demand the New York State Public Service Commission (NYPSC), being the regulators of the state's electric, gas, and steam utilities, have the power and responsibility to investigate this matter. Our community trusts these authorities to ensure equitable distribution and pricing of utilities without unfair burden on us, the consumers.

It is to be noted that regulated utilities are meant to deliver services at just and reasonable rates. Therefore, the NYPSC's absence of questioning the sudden surge in Con Ed's utility bills appears to be grossly negligent of their responsibility.

We, the residents of Mount Vernon, NY, urgently request our Governor and the NYPSC to intervene immediately into this matter. We urge them to launch a thorough investigation into Con Ed's enlargement of utility bills, to ensure no malpractice is implemented and to reinstate the fairness of utility expenses for us.

We implore you to act without delay. Please sign this petition asking the Governor and NYPSC to open an investigation into Consolidated Edison (Con Ed)'s high utility bills in Mount Vernon, NY. Your support can help stop an injustice happening in our community.
