Today, I received email from SDAC customer service. Despite what the email says, the official service center I called Trio Mantap Sdn Bhd said:

1. Cannot claim even if car is under warranty; and

2. Replacement cost will be over RM1,000 to replace the sunglass console.

If you have similar experience, please share in the comments section. e.g. how much you paid your SC to replace and whether they told you can claim under warranty or not. TQ.

Dear Sir,

Reference is made to your below complaint and our phone conversation dated 2nd May 2019.

We wish to inform that we have taken the liberty to highlight and discuss your concern with the aftersales service team. Kindly be informed that the cabin overhead console is claimable during the vehicle’s manufacturing warranty period of 3 years or 100,000KM (whichever comes first) from the vehicle’s registration date if the damage is not caused by accident of foreign objects. Besides that, we’ve also clarified with our parts department that the retail selling price of the overhead console is RM585.00. Nevertheless, we take note that you was quoted RM1,000.00 by the authorized Ford service center for the same part and in this regards, we shall escalate this matter to the after sales zone manager in charge for further action required.
