I have to drive the Goorganga Plains every day, alongside tens of thousands of other road users. What used to be a straightforward commute has now turned into a treacherous journey. After the recent roadworks, the road surface has been left corrugated and feels like you're driving over cattle grids in the outback. This is not just an inconvenience—it's a safety hazard.

The initial roadworks were bad enough, leaving copious amounts of hot mix tar and gravel on the surface. This negligence resulted in stone chips damaging windscreens and paintwork, with hot mix splattered across vehicles. Now, even after the machinery and line marking have finished, the road presents an ongoing danger.

I am deeply concerned about my safety, my family's safety, and the safety of everyone who drives this section. The road conditions are not only dangerous but also cause damage to vehicle suspensions and tyres, leading to costly repairs for drivers.

According to local statistics, tens of thousands of vehicles utilize this road daily. A significant number of these vehicles may face potential damage, resulting in financial burden and increased road safety risks. The deterioration of this road must be urgently addressed.
