The Issue

FIX FORT MCMURRAY TRANSIT – THE 77% DISSATISFIED.

To: The Mayor and Council of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo

THE PROBLEM: A 77% FAILURE RATE – IN THE CITY'S OWN WORDS

The City of Wood Buffalo's official "What We Heard Report" confirms what we experience daily:

Statistic What It Means

77% dissatisfied More than 3 out of 4 riders say the system is failing them

76% say routes don't meet needs The redesign failed its primary purpose

71% say trips are NOT faster The system promised efficiency but delivered delays

66% hate On-Demand The core of the new system is rejected by most users

This is not opinion. This is the City's own data. A 77% failure rate is not a "few unhappy people." It is a mandate for change.

WHAT WE'RE ASKING FOR

One simple thing: Change it back. Revert the transit system to how it operated before August 2025.

Until you can prove—with data, not promises—that a new system works better than the old one, give us back what we had.

The old system wasn't perfect. But seniors got to appointments. Kids had buses. Workers got to work on time. Disabled riders were served.

We don't need innovation. We need reliability.

If 77% of your customers rejected a product, any business would change it immediately. It's time for the city to treat transit with the same urgency.

We, the undersigned, demand that the city revert the transit system to how it operated before August 2025.
