Dear Supporters,

While I have been posting videos constantly with these updates, they have however been restricted to "Pets Group" on WhatsApp. Guess what? We are soon going to need a Surin dog-run - Pet group! ;)

So that's the good news and its official guys! NParks mentioned they have the pre-approvals needed to proceed with the dog run and we did meet them today. The location however would be the one adjacent/behind the public toilet area for a few reasons as follows:

• NParks doesn't want the dog run to take up the open space in the center of the park (to allow some openness and flexibility to occasional users of that space and retain aesthetics which we respect)
• Water feature for dogs would be easier to build/incur lesser cost if it was to be provisioned nearer to the water point (public toilet)

The timeline indicated for completion is still the July 2023 timeframe as communicated earlier and they shall update us further with the design plan (I have depicted the area proposed by the NParks team during our discussion today). 

I recognize that our buddies would require a wide open space to run free and we have asked them to take that into consideration and not to make this a very small area (utilize/provision maximum space possible under NPark NEA guidelines). 

They would also consider removing the footpath to prevent injuries and leveling the area to prevent water retention. Please stay tuned and more updates shall follow.

Dear Ms. Neo HuiYin, Ms. Kalthom & Mr. Hisham,

Thank you very much for meeting with us today to discuss the plan and proposal for the dog run at Surin Park. We have aligned on the alternative location within Surin Park (which you have confirmed as pre-approved) which is acceptable and please treat the following as only suggestions and humble requests for your kind consideration:

• accommodate and provision for the maximum usable space as per your regulation and as depicted in our discussions today (since the space is not really wide, the length would compensate for the same).
• factor for leveling the ground to prevent water retention.
• remove the footpath to prevent injuries while running within the area as discussed.
• minimize uprooting trees and it's fine to leave them unless deemed necessary (like me a lot of us care about the trees too).
• looking forward to hearing from you on the final design/area and hopefully completion by July this year.
