Policy Change

The Issue

The Culinary Arts Practitioners Association (CAPA) has existed since 2015 to strengthen and promote association among all practitioners in the culinary and hospitality industry. With the COVID-19 lockdown an estimated 101 CAPA members have lost income, 3,000 employees have been laid off, an estimated 45 Culinary Start-ups have lost sales and entire daily revenue, an estimated 200 food businesses have shut down or reduced output to less than 10%.

CAPA in response to the inevitable call of its members, associates and community aims to provide temporary and stop gap financial relief/Stimulus Packages and palliatives for beneficiaries such as:
CAPA Members
Culinary Start-Ups/Restaurants/Hotels
Chefs, Cooks, Kitchen Assistants
Front of House Workers
Back of House Junior staff

The Hospitality and Culinary Community has served, entertained and provided delight for us for many years, several persons have been trained with sustainable skills that will enable them thrive in a normal environment and in a future that is rid of COVID-19. The community harnesses a default train the trainer strategy which enables it grow and sustain life and survival for generations.
CAPA desires to sustain and protect this community with your help and partnership.

We request the Federal Government of Nigeria, Nigerian Banks and Lenders, Utility Companies and Landlords offer the following:

1.Short Term Financial Relief for revenue losses, unemployment and hardship
2.Tax Relief for an initial period of six months.
3.Utility Bill Freeze for an initial period of six months.
4.Loan & Grant Principal and Interest Freeze for an initial period of six months.
5.Collateral & Interest Free Stimulus Packages for Culinary Start ups and Restaurants.
