This petition calls for accountability, which is sadly lacking for a majority of political figures. This is not a republican petition, nor a democratic one. As a free thinking citizen of New York State, I have watched as Governor Cuomo’s policy failures and poor leadership, claimed the lives, property, and freedom of New Yorkers, while taking NO responsibility. His cherry-picked scientific data has destroyed businesses and worse. HIS nursing home policies were catastrophic, causing New York to have the highest death toll, and infections to rise. As late as March 25 he required nursing homes to admit or readmit patients, but claims to follow science. He effectively put our most vulnerable at risk. He was in charge. Despite being a media darling, several articles highlight his response as “the WORST” on record. He has broken his OWN mask mandate: REPEATEDLY. He watched DeBlasio destroy NYC. Homicide. Riots. Bail reform. He made the decisions. Defund the police. The police chiefs report to the mayor and governor. He made the policy. Yet he blamed Mother Nature, an “act of God”, and Donald Trump. Now, in November, after WRITING A BOOK to make a profit, and months of failed leadership, covid is rising and his new public policies which have failed us before, impede in a private capacity, limiting gathering in private homes, infringing further on the rights of citizens. New York deserves better leadership, and ALL politicians should be held accountable. They represent the people. Their power is from the people. They should be accountable to the people. For these grievances, and MANY more, Governor Cuomo should resign or be immediately removed at the bequest of the people he serves for failing to execute his duties faithfully and enacting policies both unconstitutional and detrimental to his constituents.
