Presionamos al Gobierno español para que ponga fin a la crueldad y al maltrato de los animales domésticos en España

Soy una turista francesa que va frecuentemente a España de vacaciones y como muchos otros turistas del norte europeo (alemanes, británicos, holandeses, etc.) que participamos en la canasta turística, importante para la economía española, estoy estupefacta por la situación de los animales en este país, lo que no es digno de una nación moderna como España y que se contradice con las normas europeas como la Declaración Universal sobre Bienestar Animal (NUBA) o el articulo 13 del Tratado europeo: los perros colgados (Galgos por ejemplo), muertos, castigados, maltratados, abandonados o exterminados en los refugios públicos (perreras), sin contar la población de gatos hambrientos para la cual no se implementa ninguna política de esterilización. Todo esto es inaceptable para un país que adoptó los estándares europeos desde hace ya cerca de treinta años.  1) Campañas educativas concernientes al bienestar de los animales, 2) la sensibilización sobre el hecho que los animales no son objetos sino seres sensibles y 3) la financiación pública de refugios que no serían terribles cementerios sino lugares de rehabilitación se revelan como necesarios y urgentes.
 

Reclamamos desde entonces que el Gobierno español suscriba el convenio europeo de los animales domésticos (1987) y que proponga une ley nacional sobre el bienestar animal, en consonancia con los valores humanistas y progresistas de la Comunidad Europea.

Urge the Spanish Government top put en end to animal abuse, neglect and cruelty !

Your signature will make a difference and help us improve Spanish Government commitment in acknowledging and implementing European animal welfare legislation.

I am a French tourist who goes frequently to Spain for my holidays and like many other northern European tourists (German, British, Dutch, etc.), I contribute to the tourist revenue that is so important for the Spanish economy.  However, I am shocked by the treatment of animals in this country which does not fit the standards of a modern nation like Spain and which is in violation of European  legislative norms in this matter, like the Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare (UDAW), the art. 13 of the European Treaty, and so on : dogs that are hung after the hunting and racing season (Galgos for instance), shot down, beaten, mistreated, abandoned or those exterminated in the public shelters (perreras), without counting the population of starving cats for which no policy of sterilization is implemented... All this appears unacceptable for a country that adopted the European standards more than thirty years ago. Educational campaigns concerning 1) animal welfare, 2) the raising of public awareness that animals are not objects but sensitive beings with rights and 3) the public founding of shelters that are not dreadful cemeteries but rather places of rehabilitation, appear to be urgent and absolutely necessary.

We claim therefore that the Spanish government signs the Convention for the Protection of Pet Animals (1987) and brings before parliament a national law on animal welfare that defends the humanist and progressive values of the European Community in this matter.

Poussons le gouvernement espagnol à mettre fin à la maltraitance animale !

Je suis une touriste française qui vais fréquemment en Espagne pour mes vacances et comme beaucoup d'autres touristes nord-européens (allemands, britanniques, hollandais, etc.) qui participons à la manne touristique importante pour l'économie espagnole, je suis choquée par la situation des animaux dans ce pays qui n'est pas digne d'un pays moderne comme l’Espagne et qui est surtout en contradiction avec les normes européennes, telles que l’article 13 du Traité Européen, la Declaration Universelle pour le Bien–être Animal (UDAW), etc. : chiens pendus après la saison de la chasse ou des courses (Galgos par exemple), chiens abattus, maltraités, affamés, abandonnés ou exterminés dans les refuges publics (perreras), sans compter la population de chats affamés qu'aucune politique de stérilisation ne vient enrayer… tout cela est inacceptable dans un pays qui a adopté les standards européens depuis maintenant près de trente ans. Des campagnes d'éducation, de sensibilisation concernant le bien être animal et le financement public de refuges qui ne seraient pas d’horribles mouroirs mais des lieux effectifs de réhabilitation s'avèrent nécessaires et urgents.

Nous réclamons dès lors de façon urgente que le gouvernement espagnol signe la convention européenne des animaux domestiques (1987) et qu’il propose une loi nationale sur le bien être animal qui s’inscrive dans l’esprit humaniste et progressiste de la communauté européenne.

Spanien: Stop der Tiermisshandlung !
 


Ich bin eine französische Touristin und reise häufig nach Spanien in die Ferien. Wie viele der anderen nord-europäischen Touristen (Deutsche, Briten, Holländer, etc.) welche einen wichtigen Beitrag für die spanische Wirtschaft leisten, bin ich schockiert von dem Zustand und dem Schicksal der Tiere in Spanien, das eines modernen Landes wie Spanien nicht würdig ist und das im Widerspruch mit den Grundwerten des EU-Vertrages (Art. 13 und UDAW) ist. Dies betrifft vor allem die erhängten (z.b. Galgos), geschwächten, geschlagenen, misshandelten, verlassenen oder in den öffentlichen Tierheimen getöteten Hunde, ohne die Masse an hungrigen Katzen aufzuzählen, da es keine Sterilisationspolitik gibt. All das ist für ein Land unannehmbar, das die europäischen Standards seit nun fast dreißig Jahren angenommen hat. Informationskampagnen über das Wohlergehen von Tieren sind dringend notwendig um ein Bewusstsein zu schaffen, dass Tiere keine Objekte sind sondern sensible Wesen. Öffentliche Tierheime müssen staatlich gefördert werden um keine einfachen Tötungsstationen zu sein sondern Orte zur Rehabilitation und Weitervermittlung.

Wir fordern dringend, dass die spanische Regierung das europäische Übereinkommen der Haustiere (1987 ) unterschreibt und daß sie ein nationales Gesetz über das Wohlergehen der Tiere vorschlägt, das im Einklang mit den humanistischen und fortschrittlichen Werten der europäischen Gemeinschaft steht.
