Establish Veterinary Clinics Near Forests and Animal Parks in India
The Issue
I, the concerned citizen of India, believe that every life on this Earth, whether human or animal, deserves respect and care. Yet, day after day, our precious wildlife faces numerous threats, often due to human encroachment or negligence.
I'm observing Ayyappa Swami Deeksha. Every year, during this period, whenever I find some free time, I visit as many temples as I can. However, this year began on a sorrowful note, and made me cry for tens of mins last night. Last night, as I was returning from the Raja Rajeshwara temple to Hyderabad, a tragic incident occurred near Sircilla, Telangana (I really don't know the exact location, but it came before Sircilla). A bus hit a beautiful peacock, though it wasn't the bird's fault or Bus driver's either. But the peacock died as there was no vet close by. This incident really made me cry like anything. When I looked it up, the nearest vet was 43 kilometers away, which is too distant in such urgent situations.
Why do these majestic creatures, who were here long before us, have to suffer because of our actions or our lack of infrastructure?
Our Demands (Not Just to My State Telangana):
Veterinary Hospitals Near High-Risk Zones: Every major road that cuts through forests or animal parks should have a veterinary hospital at its start or end. This would ensure immediate medical attention for any animal injured due to vehicular movement.
Government Responsibility: Once an animal is treated, the government should ensure its safe and healthy release back into its natural habitat. We must not just heal their wounds but also restore their spirit.
Animals are like us, have families, emotions, and a will to live. They too feel pain, fear, and loss. The Earth does not belong to humans alone. We share it with countless other species, and it's our duty to protect them.
Remember, our actions or lack thereof reflect on us as a society. It's not just about saving animals; it's about saving our own humanity.
We urge you to take immediate action. Let's work together to ensure no animal, like the peacock near Sircilla, loses its life due to our negligence.
From my state, Telangana, I am requesting KTR; for two primary reasons: Firstly, from my observations, he takes swift action and is proactive in addressing issues. Secondly, he is currently in a powerful position. I want to clarify that I have no personal motive in mentioning KTR and hope this doesn't get misconstrued. Being on Ayyappa deeksha, it's my duty to speak the truth; I assure you I have no hidden agendas or intentions in pointing to him. And you're welcome to share this with any politician you respect, irrespective of their party, caste, religion or background from your state or even from Telangana, especially if you feel they can bring about change.
Let us unite in our efforts to ensure that no creature, like that peacock, meets a tragic end.
Sign this petition to demand better veterinary infrastructure and greater care for our wildlife.
Note: Image is not from the place of the incident, I've just added a forest royalty free image instead of leaving it empty.
