It’s time to recognize and support our gifted children—young minds with exceptional potential who are often overlooked and under-supported. Gifted students make up approximately 2 to 5% of the student population (NAGC, 2020), yet federal funding for gifted education remains severely lacking. Without proper recognition and resources, these children may not reach their full potential, limiting their ability to contribute to society.

By establishing November 7th as National Gifted Children Awareness Day, we can bring attention to the unique learning needs of gifted students and advocate for the support they deserve. Let’s unite to appreciate, acknowledge, and empower these bright minds—our future innovators, leaders, and problem-solvers.
