We are a group of passionate squash players, ranging from novices with just a year's experience to seasoned veterans who have been playing for 40 years. Our love for the sport has been passed down to our children, who also play and wish to play more. However, our community in Rolleston lacks an accessible squash facility. This means we have to travel considerable distances to enjoy our favourite sport, diminishing the frequency of play and enjoyment - particularly for our kids.

This challenge is not unique to us; many other local families face the same issue. The lack of local facilities not only hampers participation but also inhibits the growth of this wonderful sport within our community.

Accordingly, we call upon  Selwyn District Council  to establish a Squash facility in Rolleston. This would significantly increase local participation rates among both adults and children alike.

It’s pretty well accepted and according to the world health organisation, increased physical activity usually leads to improved health outcomes.
