Turning Point is a far-right extremist and pro-Trump regime organization founded by political activists Charlie Kirk and Bill Montgomery. This organization and its founders have made statements demonizing the LGBTQ+ community, dehumanizing people of color and immigrants and refusing to acknowledge the systemic barriers that they still face, uplifting white supremacist ideals, disrespecting all non-Christian religions, advocating for the oppression of women, and so much more. 

At South County High School, we advocate for an environment open to the acceptance of all people no matter their gender, race, or ethnicity. We have clubs and programs for LGBTQ+ individuals, people of color, and other groups lacking representation. Having Turning Point at this school completely diminishes the relevance of these clubs completely and contradicts what South County High School stands for. In addition to this, South County High School has also removed the Young Democrats club due to the advocacy of students associated with Turning Point. The students of South County High School will not stand for this and we refuse to let this hatred continue.
